                                           LEGAL LITERACY CELL ACTIVITY 2019-20

Legal Literacy Cell organized  one day Extension  Lecture  on the topic Fundamental  Rights  and Duties  on 15.01.2020 ,  delivered by Advocate Sh. Sudhir Kumar .He informed  students  about legal rights  and duties of citizens  by using PPT  .

              

 LEGAL LITERACY CELL ACTIVITY 2018-19

Under Legal  Literacy Cell the following competition programs were held in the college on 16.02.2019 at 12:00 Noon

  1. Essay/Slogan writing competition
  2. Speech/Declamation competition
  3. Poem competition
  4. Debate  competition
  5. On the spot painting competition

These competitions were organized on following topics :-

  1. Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
  2. Dowry  Prohibition
  3. Human Rights
  4. Fundamental duties
  5. Rights of Disabled persons
  6. Right  of Destitute of women and children
  7. Drug  De- addiction
  8. Female foeticide
  9. Hygiene and general awareness
  10. Environment
  11. On sexual  harassment
  12. Child  marriage
  13. Road safety
  14. Right to Education
  15. Right  to information
  16. Anti  Ragging  etc.

In  these competitions a large number of students participated.

Ms.Lalita ( Roll No. 1353820043 of B.Com II)  achieved first position in

respective competitions.

Out of these participants of above five events , the above  first positioned   participants went  further  to compete at District level Literacy programmes – 2018-19 on dated 12.03.2019 where our students won 3rd position in Debate and Painting and in Slogan writing our college stood 2nd

Legal Literacy Cell organized  Extension Lecture on Legal Aid on 16.01.2017 delivered by Advocate  Sh. Dayanand  Saini.

Legal Literacy Cell organized  one day Extension  Lecture  on Legal issues related to Women on 09.11.2017  delivered by Advocate Sh. Sudhir Kumar .He informed  students  about legal issues related to women  by using PPT  .

These programmes were organized  for generating awareness about legal rights of women . The students were  tested in respect of provisions of the constitution and laws relating to women’s rights and empowerment. Competitions included topics related to following laws :-

  1. Constitution of India mainly , the preamble , fundamental  rights
  2. National commission for women  act ,1990
  3. Protection of women from domestic violence act, 2005
  4. The minimum wages act , 1948
  5. SC and ST amendment act 2015 etc.

These programmes were organized  for generating awareness about legal rights of women . The students were  tested in respect of provisions of the constitution and laws relating to women’s rights and empowerment.

Students  were informed about The National  Commission for Women Act. The  National  Commission for Women is  a  national level statutory body  established under  an act of Parliament. The commission is mandated  to study and monitor all matters relating to constitutional  and legal safeguards provided  for  women , to review the existing legislations and suggest amendments , wherever necessary , look into complaints and monitor proper implementation of all legislations enacted to protect the rights of women to enable them to achieve equality in all spheres of life and equal participation in the development of nation.

On  15.11.2014 District Legal Literacy Cell competition held at GC Bhiwani in which our college students participated in Essay writing , Slogan writing and On the spot  Painting  where our  college  stood  first in Slogan writing and second in On the spot  painting.
